See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? – Isaiah 43:19

Hi Teresa,

A woman I was sitting with recently paused mid-sentence and said something that stopped me…

“Everything in my life looks the same… and nothing feels the same anymore.”

And as she said it, she looked around almost like she was trying to make sense of a life she was still standing inside of… and no longer recognized.

The roles were still there.
The responsibilities hadn’t changed.
From the outside, nothing looked different.

And inside…

Something had shifted.

Maybe you’ve felt that too.

Not completely broken.
Not completely okay.

Just… unfamiliar with yourself.

There’s something about this season that can make that feeling louder.

The world begins to soften.
Things start coming back to life.

And without even realizing it, a question can rise within you:

“Why don’t I feel like I’m blooming too?”

So let me gently offer you something to consider…

What if you are?
Just not in the way you expected.

Grief and life transitions don’t follow seasons.

Your nervous system doesn’t respond to spring by saying,
“Okay, we’re ready now.”

Instead, it asks:

Am I safe enough to soften yet?
Am I ready to feel something new?

And sometimes what looks like “stuck” is actually:

  • your body protecting you
  • your heart integrating what you’ve been through
  • your identity quietly reorganizing beneath the surface

Healing is less like flipping a switch…
and more like learning to walk again after an injury you didn’t choose.

At first, nothing feels natural.
Even familiar movements take effort.

And yet… this is often what we expect from ourselves.

Can I ask you something gently…

If you’re still expecting yourself to feel like the version of you from before your loss…

how would you ever recognize the version of you that’s trying to emerge now?

You’re not meant to go back.

So the real question becomes:

Who am I now…
and what do I need in order to move forward from here?

Not from pressure.
Not from expectation.

But from alignment.

A gentle reminder that not everything needs to be figured out right now…
sometimes healing begins when we allow ourselves to pause.

A Gentle Spring Reset: 6 Ways to Support Yourself Right Now

  1. Pause before you push
Ask: Is this pressure… or is this readiness?
  2. Name what feels unfamiliar
    Awareness reduces internal resistance.
  3. Reconnect with your body
Your body processes what your mind can’t.
  4. Release timelines that don’t belong to you
    Healing is not a race—it’s a relationship.
  5. Take one aligned step (not ten forced ones)
    Small safety builds sustainable change.
  6. Shift the question
    From: What’s wrong with me?
To: What is trying to shift within me?

A space where you don’t have to perform strength… you can simply be supported.

Maybe this season isn’t asking you to bloom yet…

Maybe it’s asking you to trust what’s happening beneath the surface.

Because God doesn’t rush what He is renewing.

And neither should you.

If you need someone to walk beside you in that process, I’m here. You don’t have to do this alone.
